Herzenstour 2025
This year, we once again held a Heart Tour. We had the unique opportunity of having a completely new cycle path and new cities at our disposal. The Heart Tour 2025 took us from August 15th to 24th, 2025, from Kiel via Weißenhäuser Strand, Grömitz, Travemünde, Wismar, Warnemünde, Prerow, and Stralsund to Greifswald. The association was able to use the donations, totaling €11,500, to Support for Children with Cancer Rostock eV The non-profit organization was founded in 1992 by affected parents and interested parties to support children with cancer and their families during the difficult period of treatment and afterward. The support is provided on a highly individualized basis.
Unfortunately, cancer is one of the most common causes of death among children.
A diagnosis is a major event for anyone, but especially for children, who often don't even understand what it means.
Long therapies, separated from families, no playing with other children, no more vacations.
At the same time, however, there is also frustration that there are treatment options that are not covered by statutory health insurance.
All of these are additional burdens for those affected and their families in addition to the illness.
How wonderful is it, then, in this time of fear and many tears, to have a glimmer of hope that can lead to a smile that overshadows the pain for a moment?
This glimmer of hope is brought by nonprofit organizations that make just that possible. They momentarily put the otherwise difficult everyday life in the shade. Organizations whose work provides such a glimmer of hope, a smile.
Since Linda herself suffered from leukemia as a child and knows exactly what these organizations do, supporting these organizations is a matter close to our hearts. The strength we expend on our bike rides is nothing compared to the strength required to fight cancer. Unfortunately, not all children emerge victorious in this battle.
