Stage 5 - Wismar to Warnemünde
Our breakfast started earlier than usual today because we had a tight schedule. Friends from Uwe's hometown offered us the opportunity to meet them at their campsite for a cold drink. We also had a visit to the club in Rostock. So we had breakfast at 6:30 a.m. today so we could be on our bikes on time. We set off at 7:40 a.m. and made another quick stop at the harbor to admire the new Disney ship, which even has a roller coaster on the top deck. In Stove, we cycled past the Dutch windmill. An impressive piece of craftsmanship. Shortly afterward, we were forced to take a break from the rain, which thankfully didn't last long. In the Baltic Sea resort of Kühlungsborn, we were treated to beautiful views of the raging waves of the Baltic Sea. The wind refreshed us today, but unfortunately, it was mostly from the front. Shortly after Heiligendamm, we met up with Uwe's friends and took a break to fortify ourselves with a cold drink and some snacks. The bike path to Warnemünde led mostly through the forest, where we were somewhat better protected from the wind and sun. One highlight was the so-called Ghost Forest. But: We didn't see any ghosts. In Warnemünde today, we were able to admire three cruise ships. Among them was the AIDAmar, which Philipp had already been on.
At 4 p.m., we visited the association and chatted over cake, rolls, and delicious drinks. We talked about our project and the story behind it. Later, there was still time to look at the parents' house. Since more space is needed there, an extension is planned.
The playground is lovingly designed, and Philipp, of course, got a firsthand impression of the water playground. It was a warm welcome.
Philipp got another organ tip for tomorrow. Let's see if it works...
